Affirmation Doll Workshop

Affirmation Doll Workshop

Class Description

Dolls have been used throughout the centuries for healing, in religious ceremonies, to teach and to entertain. Before mass manufactured dolls, women got creative with what was available – corn husks, rags, dried apples.  In like manner we will be creating dolls from modern day available materials: fabric, yarn and embellishments.

The doll we create will embody a favorite quote, affirmation or intention.  Once the doll is constructed (no sewing involved!), we’ll decorate, embellish and clothe the doll to our heart’s content. All supplies will be included, but feel free to bring a favorite button, hanky, piece of jewelry or other meaningful item to make the doll uniquely your own.

Important Information

  • Registration fee: $50 per attendee with supplies included

  • Last day to register to attend: September 17th - no checks or payment accepted the day of the event

  • This is an adults only event

  • Location: Foxhollow Farms 8905 Hwy 329, Crestwood KY 40014 - see below for google map directions and a map of the farm for parking

MINDFULNESS

Integrating mindfulness-based life skills into a healing, supportive process with kids can create profound shifts in the child's growth and their ability to cultivate safety & connection.

“Mindful awareness teaches us to pay close attention to our inner and outer worlds with a kind and compassionate perspective.  It helps us manage stress by becoming more aware of how we navigate through life -- physically, emotionally and intellectually. When we learn to recognize how we feel on the inside, we can see the outside clearly and stay steady during life's ups and downs.  These transformative qualities help everyone become happier, more resilient and more compassionate.”
