I highly recommend Theresa Adamchik as an art therapist to work with anyone having a disability. She was the first person who helped us discover that my son is an artist. She introduced him to a variety of fun, artsy techniques. She also provided him an outlet for expression at a time in his life when major transition change was occurring. This was the time he began living independently with his roommate and friend. Because of Theresa and her suggestions during those early years, he has adapted and evolved in all areas of his life beyond his art work. Today he has had a job for 8 years at a retail store, lives independently now for 10 years, and has had his own art business now for 7 years. He is an award winning, Kentucky Juried artist and travels to exhibit his artwork. It all started with Theresa. I highly recommend her.

Emily was very creative and fun! She found a way for every child to participate no matter what level of function they were. The kids really enjoyed all the fun songs and instruments. She kept their attention and knew how to handle difficulty kids. She worked well with staff as well, and helped to inspire volunteers to participate in activities. We hope to be lucky enough to have her back next year.

I witnessed Julia conducting a group music therapy session at an ICF-MR. The participants’ faces lit up when she walked in the room. It was not only her humble personality that caught their attention, but the opportunity (they had) to communicate, express themselves, and have fun… Louisville Expressive Therapies is committed to enabling healing and growth through expressive therapy modalities, helping people reach their full potential and helping people foster relationships, trust, and interpersonal skills.
